| Blah. I haven't been on in forever. Nobody's probably reading this anyway. I'll do some quotes regardless:] --Dealing with backstabbers, that's one thing i've learned; they're only powerful when your back is turned.+ Eminem. --The most immportant thing in life is to give out love, and to let it in. +Morrie Shwartz. --All that we are is a result of what we thought. The mind is everything. What we think we become. +Buddha. --All generalizations are false, including this one. +Mark Twain. --That's the thing. You need to be cool to be queen. Anne Boleyn thought only with her heart and she got her head chopped off. So her daughter Elizabeth made a vow never to marry a man. She married a country. Forget boys. Keep your eye on the prize. You can't make people love you, but you can make them fear you. +Gossip Girl. --Get two people in a room together being balls-out honest. It might get ugly but eventually the dust has to settle.+Gossip Girl. --I was afraid of you, Julius. I only saw what I was afraid of and now I know I was only hating my brother. I'll tell you what though. Um, when all this is over, me and you are gonna move out to the same neighborhood together, okay? And we'll get old, and we'll get fat. And there won't be all the black and white between us.+Remember the Titans. --I woke of this morning, smiled at the rising sun, three little birds sat on my doorstep, singing seet songs. +Bob Marley. --Ahora sin ti, no me queda mas remedio que dejarte ir.+ReiK. --The love you take is equal to the love you make.+The Beatles. --Winter, spring, summer, or fall, all you have to do is call, and I'll be there, you've got a friend.+James Taylor. --Fate fell short this time, your smile fades in the summer, place your hand in mine, I'll leave when I wanna.+Blink 182. --I don't think I'm gonna go to LA anymore.+John Mayer. --Get me out of this cavern or I'll cave in.+Owl City. --And I'll watch the night turn light blue, but it's not the same without you, because it takes two to whisper quietly. The silence isn't so bad, til' i look at my hands and feel sad, cuz the spaces between my fingers are right where yours fit perfectly. +Owl City. --So often in times it happens, we live all our life in chains, and we never even know we have the key. +The Eagles. | | |
| The Tao of Pooh. By far the best book I've read in a loooonog time:]
Why should we live with such a hurry and waste of life? We are determined to be starved before we are hungry. Men say that a stitch in time saves nine, and so they take a thousand stitches today to save nine tomorrow. +Henry David Thoreau.
The main problem with the great obsession for saving time is very simple: We cannot save time. We can only spend it.
The clouds above us separate, the breeze in the coutyard leaves and returns. Life is like that, so why not relax? Who can stop us from celebrating? +Lu Yu. A clever mind is not a heart. Knowledge doesn't really care. Wisdom does. Despite what Eeyore once said, when it comes to enjoying life and making sense of who we are, all of us can; It's just that some don't. Do you want to be really happy? You can begin with being appreciative of who you are and what you've got. Do you want to be really miserable? You can begin by being discontented. Wisdom, happiness, and courage are not waiting somehwere out beyond sight at the end of a straight line; they're part of a continuous cycle that begins right here. Knowledge and cleverness tend to concern themselves with the wrong sorts of things, and a mind confused by knowledge, cleverness, and abstract ideas tends to go chasing after things that don't matter, or that don't even exist, instead of what is right in front of it. Like silence after noise, or cool, clear water on a hot, stuffy day, emptiness cleans out the messy mind and charges the batteries of spiritual energy. The power of a clear mind is beyond description. But it can be attained by anyone who can appreciate and utilize the value of Nothing. The one chance we have to avoid certain disaster is to change our approach, and to learn to value wisdom and contentment. If we are smart we will choose the way of Pooh. As if from far away, it calls to us with the voice of a child's mind. It may be hard to hear at times, but it is important just the same, because without it, we will never find our way through the Forest. | | |
